If you go the left side you gain a bunch of factories as they will move to you before the war, if you go the right side you get the military units that help win the war. This gives you no time to get all the focuses that will help before and after the war. The fascist side takes 20% support to get to which only leaves you with 10% more growth before the civil war fires. It has some events that gives you tons of military equipment every time you take a state which is huge.Īlso it's odd that you can get through most of the communist stuff without much support, only 10% to get to the most important stuff, which gives you lots of extra time to get more focuses while also giving you a extra research slot super early. Going through the events the communist side has more events, gives stronger bonuses during the war and has the civil war coded with a actual faction plus you don't lose your army/navy going that way. The fascist tree of the US is also the most broken and it's also coded oddly. (They're definitely useful long term they're just really boring in 1936.) All you can do is get some military stuff you probably won't need or use for a long time. On another note, being completely unable to do any interesting focuses before FDR is voted out of office is just boring. I was trying to prioritize the extra tech slots, and it doesn't seem like America wanting to be neutral at first 100% contradicts them becoming fascist. Now I'm stuck having put about 10 hours into a game only to realize that it's impossible to actually do my goal. I guess they're supposed to be mutually exclusive, but that's not shown very clearly in the UI. Looking at the focuses in more detail, I'm guessing it's because there are several focuses that require 95% democratic support and the America First focus gives 5% fascist support. Have people tried out the fascist USA path? I just ran into a problem where I finally unlocked the fascist demagogue advisor, only to realize that actually employing him requires me to not have signed the neutrality act earlier.
